Configure Port Speed for All VIM Ports

This procedure only applies to VSP 4900 Series.

Configure all of the ports on an installed Versatile Interface Module (VIM) to operate at the same speed.

Note

Some VIMs must operate with all ports at the same speed, or a group of ports at the same speed, while others can operate with ports at different speeds. For more information, see VOSS Release Notes. You can configure VIM ports speed only on VIMs that must operate with all ports at the same speed.

Before you begin

Install the VIM before performing this procedure.

About this task

Note

It is a best pratice not to use a mix of 10Gbps and 25Gbps VIMs with the auto parameter.

Use this procedure to configure the speed of all ports in a multi-port VIM to operate at either 10 Gbps, 25 Gbps, or auto.

Procedure

In the navigation pane, expand Configuration > Edit.
Select Chassis.
Select the VIM tab.
Select mbps10000, mbps25000, or auto.
Select Apply.

AdminSpeed	mbps10000: Configures all ports in a multi-port VIM to operate at 10 Gbps. mbps25000: Configures all ports in a multi-port VIM to operate at 25 Gbps. auto: Configures all ports in a multi-port VIM to operate at the detected link speed. The command auto vim-speed is enabled by default.
